about The following blockquote section. the quotation i'm making was taken from a young chap who journals as ministry_victim on livejournal, and is on my list of friends on that account. i asked to add him, along with the others, when i first started journaling on livejournal.com and did so because i didn't feel right lurking in the shadows. so while some people form friendships, attachments and real working communities (which still baffles me) by making regular comments and interjections--moving on to meet up in person or chat online--i have done the least possible in the livejournal community. but i felt i should give credit where credit is due. and that's why i'm telling about how i've quoted this large section from him.
i found this to be interesting and quite true. i have somehow made myself believe that i can be more honest in print than in words and sounds that actually have to come from me. it doesn't seem like it would make sense but to me it does. especially if i look at the printed word as being a direct connection to my mind, a live feed if you will. i suppose its something about having to speak the words, and then emote something even more to go along with the concept or idea i'm trying to talk about. The Rule of Distance
The amount of personal information given is directly relative to the amount of distance between the two speakers.
A person who lives in the same city/town will be cordial, but not candid, whereas if a person lives in a different province, and sometimes a different municipality, then on most nights you can get nuns to tell you everything from favourite sexual position (if inquired about) to confessions of love, or the sharing of personal tragedy.
